In Real Life, Money Decisions Don’t Wait

So I woke up on the bathroom floor a couple of weeks ago.

I was dealing with an infection that caused me to black out… but luckily my cheekbone took most of the damage. Thankfully it was all bruising, but as you can imagine I didn't feel like being "camera ready" last week.

I was able to keep my writing and coaching sessions going, but honestly it took a lot to keep showing up. I'm sure you can think of a similar experience in your life… hopefully without black, yellow, and green bruising 😉

But that's just life sometimes. Your body breaks down, the car needs repairs, you don't sleep well, timing is just off.

And here's what I kept thinking about while I was deciding whether to hide for another week: I was waiting for better timing. For the bruising to fade and conditions to improve. But the work and my clients were still there and waiting wasn't going to change that.

I talk about this with my clients all the time. You know you need to look at the numbers together, but you're waiting for things to calm down at work, or for the kids to go back to school, or for the tension between you to ease up a little first.

The problem is this “magic window” doesn't open by itself. There's always something happening. And while you're waiting, the debt and the decisions and the stress just keep building in the background.

So I won’t keep waiting until my face heals to show up this week. I’ll just show up bruised.
