When Therapy or Financial Advice Isn’t Enough
You can be in therapy and still feel stuck around money.
You can have a financial advisor and still not feel aligned.
Why is that?
It may not have been the right kind of help.
When the help is good, but not the right fit
I’ve seen this pattern a lot. One couple came to me because their therapist told them money conversations were blocking the relationship work. Emotional insight mattered, but it wasn't enough to help them make decisions or move forward together.
I’ve also worked with couples who came to me after going to a financial advisor first.
One wasn't ready to focus on investments because they needed to learn financial basics first. Another couldn't move forward because they could not agree on a financial plan. And another needed to understand their spending patterns before wealth-building was even possible.
For those couples, the problem wasn't their financials or their intentions. It was the gap between the numbers and the relationship.
When incentives and readiness don’t align
I've also seen something harder. Couples who were sold financial products they didn't understand and were not right for them. This happens when incentives and readiness are misaligned.
I've made these mistakes too, getting the wrong kind of help for the problem I was actually facing.
The gap between insight and execution
But there’s a middle space we don’t often see, and this is where real progress begins. A place where the relationship, money patterns, and financial systems are held together—so you can actually use the help you’re getting.
The guidance you received wasn’t wrong. It just wasn’t right for the moment.
A bridge, not replacement
That's why I offer the Wealth Strategy Intensive. It's a way to understand what kind of help fits best right now. It's not a commitment to everything, and it's not a replacement for therapy or long-term financial planning. It's a bridge that makes both more effective, at the right time.
Here’s what a couple had to say after our session:
“Thank you so much for the support, feedback, and coaching you provided during our session. We’re genuinely grateful for your approach and tone. It made a big difference for us and helped create clarity without pressure. We’re already putting things into action and are feeling highly motivated. It feels good to move from insight into execution.”
You don't need to try harder or guess your next move. You just need clarity about what fits.
If you want help moving forward, book a Wealth Strategy Intensive here Or, if you'd prefer to talk it through first, we can start with a brief orientation call.
Let’s meet in the middle,
Dee
