Why I Couldn’t Do Laundry Until I Cleaned My Closet

And what that has to do with your money.

A few weeks ago, I decided to purge my closet. To sort through the clothes, create piles (keep, toss, alter, give away), and just feel better about my space.

I had great intentions. But can you believe I left those piles around for weeks!? On the floor. On the bench. In the hallway. It became chaos.

And guess what happened to my laundry habits during that time?

Yep, they completely fell apart!

I’d forget wet clothes in the washer (ugh, mildew smell). I’d leave clean clothes in the dryer or in the basket. And because my basket still had clean laundry in it, the dirty clothes would pile up on the floor, right next to the purging piles!

Everything became harder.
Because my environment was cluttered.

I didn’t even want to deal with it.

Finally, I finished the closet purge and put everything away (because we had company coming over). 😅

And guess what? My laundry habits immediately snapped back into shape.

No more stinky washer. No more piles. I’ve been doing laundry weekly, start to finish, with ease and consistency.

Because once the clutter was gone…

I stopped stalling out.
It was easier to follow through.
I didn’t have to fight my environment to do a simple task.

And yes, I’m a money coach, so I have to connect the dots to your financial life.

A cluttered financial  life can stall your progress too.

Just like my messy closet made it hard to keep up with laundry, a messy financial environment creates resistance.

And that mental clutter can cause real stress. It makes it harder to stay on top of things, and even harder to move forward toward your goals.

But when you take the time to unclutter, simplify, and create systems, everything changes.

That’s the heart of my MoneyOps System™

A system to simplify, organize, and automate your financial life so it works withyou, not against you.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about creating an environment that supports the life you actually want.

And it often starts with one small act of clearing the clutter.

So where do you need to unclutter?

You might not be ready to clear out your whole house. But maybe just the closet.

Or maybe just one part of your financial world?

Let’s take that first step, together.

Money Strategy Session is a $97, 1:1 deep-dive into your financials, where we’ll look at what’s working with your money, what’s not, and how to simplify your path forward.
